PTK – Phi Theta Kappa

Gavin Medley – President

Hello! I’m Gavin Medley. As the Phi Theta Kappa President, my mission is to grow our chapter to better serve not only our campus but the community. I graduated from Smiths Station High School in 2016. I am currently a sophomore with plans to graduate with an associate of science in the spring of 2018. I will transfer to Auburn University in the fall to gain my bachelor’s degree in business management. I aspire to become a successful entrepreneur. Along with being a full time student at CVCC I also own/operate a lawn and landscaping business. In addition, I run a merchandising and ecommerce business. In my spare time, I enjoy competing in amateur boxing and working out. I look forward to meeting new members and helping you succeed!

Angel  Moreno – Vice President

My name is Angel Moreno. I have lived in Phenix City, AL all of my life. I graduated from Central High School with the class of 2016, and I’m currently a sophomore at Chattahoochee Valley Community College. After graduating from CVCC, I plan on transferring to Auburn University in the fall of 2018, where I will be majoring in political science. Being a part of Phi Theta Kappa has provided me with leadership skills and scholarship opportunities, which will help me in being successful in my future.

Joni Gabbard – Recording Secretary

My Name is Joni Gabbard. I am currently a non-traditional student and will graduate with an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management and Supervision in December 2017.  Being a PTK member has put me in the front of the line with the academic success that comes with this honor. The activities and events that PTK sponsors are dear to the heart and help our community grow. I can only say I am a better person to have been a part of this organization. So for anyone that is considering becoming a PTK member, take the plunge and come on in – the water is fine!

Karoline Hamilton – Public Relations Secretary

I am a full-time student and PTK member here at CVCC. I devote myself to my studies and creation of art with the goal to transfer to Auburn University. Becoming a member of PTK has been quite helpful in a number of ways. You are able to meet other students who are just as serious with being successful. Also, just from being a part of the PTK, it adds more scholarship opportunities and is viewed quite highly upon resumes. More importantly, it helps you realize you are not alone when you are surrounded by those that are just alike when it comes to devotion and compassion.
